The Starlight Benefit is a biennial event produced by a dedicated group of parent volunteers and staff of Pacific Crest School. It is first and foremost a chance to celebrate our community and common goals for our school and children. Secondly, it is a chance to financially support our school through silent and live auctions as well as a Raise the Paddle event. You can make a difference in this anchor institution that incubates capable citizens for a just and sustainable world.
Our Starlight Benefit is a chance to build our relationships with other parents, alums, staff, and friends of the school. Building community is a cornerstone of our school, and there is no better way to build these connections than in a relaxed and fun environment. Please join us to celebrate all that we love and admire about the education we have chosen for our children. This is a night for everyone to come together, connect, renew friendships, and show our commitment to our community.
Raise the Paddle
Every two years the Starlight Benefit allows us to come together to raise money for a specific need our school has. In the past we have raised the paddle for our teachers’ continuing education, for new buildings at our school farm on Vashon Island, and for outdoor work areas for our children on our urban campus in Seattle. This year we are raising the paddle for improvements on our Farm campus on Vashon Island.
About the School
“Let us give him a vision of the whole universe. The universe is an imposing reality, and an answer to all questions. We shall walk together on this path of life, for all things are part of the universe, and are connected with each other to form one whole unity.”
Pacific Crest School is a Seattle Montessori school offering a learning environment for children from three years of age continuing through the Eighth Grade.
Montessori Education for Life combines the child's natural love of life and learning with the values of hard work and self-discipline. Our students graduate with a capacity for self-knowledge, independence, and the ability to chart their course to adulthood.
We believe in:
Respectful and caring environments
Commitment to the support of human development
Belief in the potential of each and every child
Support on the path to independence
Our mission is to provide a dynamic learning environment that exemplifies the principles of Montessori education. Students are prepared to participate with confidence as citizens in a changing world.
Pacific Crest School provides the foundation from which students explore their wider community through service and extensions to the land at the Pacific Crest Farm Campus.
Opportunities to fully integrate their experiences are provided through our visual arts programs, creative writing, research, and oral and written presentations. As a result, students leave their Montessori education with a sense of personal vision and a belief in their ability to make the world a better place.
